There’s a new art gallery in town – giving new hope to the
Davao art community and a refreshing turn to the Davao art scene.
Art Portal Contemporary Art Gallery opened last July 24,
2015 at BGP Complex II, McArthur Highway, Matina, Davao City. Davao artists,
media and art enthusiasts attended the event to celebrate the art of Prof.
Leonilo “Neil” Doloricon. The opening night exhibited Prof. Doloricon’s “DISPOSSESSED.”
Moving images of our country’s issues and cultural heritage would leave the
exhibit goers breathless and in deep thought about the messages enclosed in
Prof. Doloricon’s art.
Most of the Prof. Doloricon's artworks are in black and white, but this side of the gallery shows works in vibrant colors as well.
The art gallery space may seem quite small, but this allows
for intimate conversations about the exhibited art. The opening of the art
gallery is in line with the burgeoning art scene in Davao and the growing
movement of the Davao art community.

You can find the art gallery when you see Eastwest Bank near GSIS Heights in
Matina. The art gallery is at the second floor on the same building as Eastwest
Bank, which is on the other side of the highway from GSIS.
