Doon Po Sa Amin: A Film Competition Celebrating Philippine Culture and Heritage

Students and filmmaking enthusiasts are encouraged to join Doon Po Sa Amin Year 7, the country’s first and biggest crowdsourcing competition which uncovers and promotes stories about Philippine culture and heritage. The competition is composed of two divisions: the (1) Student Division in which high school and college students can join and (2) Open Division wherein independent filmmaking enthusiasts can enter.

Exciting prizes will be given to the first, second, and third places of each division. First place winners will be given PHP 50,000. The second place will have PHP 30,000 and the third will be given PHP 15,000. Plus, the winners will have bragging rights as to being the “cream of the crop” among other entries from around the country.

You can create videos about (1) activities to enjoy, (2) food to eat, (3) history to uncover, (4) people to meet, (5) places to go, (6) plants and animals to discover, or (7) community products to support. The key here is that it should celebrate the culture and heritage of our country. So start the brainstorming sessions with your team right now and get shooting! Deadline for the submission of entries is on October 31, 2014.

This competition is pretty exciting since it celebrates and promotes the wonders of our culture. Moreover, it supports the pool of talents among our schools and filmmakers. To know more about the competition mechanics and get ideas on what to include in your videos, check out the links below:
